I've done this article before, but it seems to be missing so I'm doing it again!
I often get questions about differences between certain body sculpts and their 5-point, 11-point, or MTM articulated bodies.
MOST of the time, there's no difference. Sure, slight differences, but not enough to make clothes not fit for dolls with the same body type.
And then there's Curvy.

This comparison pic is missing the 11-point Extra doll, but that one's easy, she has the same proportions as the fashionista (left).
The doll with the same amount of articulation as an Extra but with a completely different body shape from all other curvies is the Collector body in the center. Instead of being pear shaped, she is also bigger in the upper body, and deeper (front to back measurements) than the other curvy dolls.

See what I mean? They didn't just put a bigger bust on her, she has a bigger everything: bigger waist, bigger hips, bigger thighs. If you look at her only from the front, she looks like she has a smaller waist but that's mostly because of the bigger upper body creating more of an hourglass silhouette vs a pear silhouette.
I read that the collector body is the body that the designers originally wanted to do for Curvy but the Curvy doll (and tall and petite) dolls are close enough to classic to be able to share most clothes. Collector dolls aren't generally expected to be redressable and have unique, very tailored fashions so it makes sense that the collector line gets a more unique body.
As for the MTM body, that one is pretty similar to the fashionista, but it has slightly thicker upper arms/thighs because of the joints there.
Here's how they come out in measurements:

My patterns with Curvy cuts will fit all 3 dolls (I went back and adjusted ones that didn't after the new collector/mtm body types came out) if you follow the cut lines for the different body types.
HOWEVER! Once you sew in your closures, you may find that clothes that are fitted for a non-collector doll might be a little tight on a collector doll. Patterns fit a range of sizes, but once you sew in a closure, your clothes size is 'locked' to a very narrow range. If you want to make sure your clothes fit all body types, fit for closures on the larger (collector) doll.
