If you like period styles but the fancy sewing is intimidating, go medieval! Clothing from this period was simply constructed but still very iconic: this downloadable pdf sewing pattern for your dolls will let you make a kirtle (tunic dress) with a few different cut options as well as a viking style hangerock with a split or full skirt!
Patterns Included: Kirtle dress with notched/high/low necklines, one piece or laced in style sleeves, one-piece dress or dress with gathered skirt. Hangerock with split or full skirt
Dolls it fits: Clothes made from this pattern can fit a pretty wide range of BJDs and fashion dolls in the 40cm/16" range.Β The pattern is designed for dolls with mature proportions (Slim MSD in BJD lingo), so adult dolls like Tonner's Ellowyne Wilde, Fashion Royalty's 16" line, and Fairyland's Minifee dolls can all wear these clothes.
Supplies needed: 1/3 yard fabric, thread/sewing supplies
Difficulty:Β Intermediate. This dress is very easy to sew, but it uses fabric warp to be fitted, which may be tricky for newbies as it's easier to over/under tighten.
You will get a link to the .pdf file to download on checkout as well as in your order confirmation email.Β You can buy/download/print and get started in minutes!

Looking forward to making many variations of this pattern. Great base for day or evening wear.
I didn't think I'd love this pattern as much as do. The little blouse and bodice are easy to sew and make me look like I'm a professional seamstress! The pieces can work with other patterns as well. My favorite combo is the bodice from the Dirndl pattern combined with the dress from the Convertible Mini Dress pattern!
This is my favorite time period and I love the clothes! This pattern is perfect to dress up all my dolls in so they can go to the Ren Faire, or just look pretty. The different pieces also work with other patterns/dresses.
This is one of my favorite patterns. I have made many different variations of this dress and they all turn out beautiful.
Really great pattern, I've used it and modified it for so many different sized dolls and it always turns out cute.
Really well done pattern that even works well with real leather! Easy to follow, though I do recommend making a mock-up to practice sewing the collar
The instructions were easy to follow and I could make two Barbie sized dirndl outfits in a very short time. I certainly want the pattern in 1/3 scale, too - for my Smart Dolls
I have always wanted to make dirndls for my dolls. This pattern is absolutely perfect. I liked it so much that I made 6 outfits in a row. Great!
Perfect, straightforward, and easy instructions! I really appreciate that youβre also directed towards which fabrics work best, very helpful for a beginner.
