Tiny Kimono & Yukata

Regular price $6.99

The kimono is a traditional Japanese dress for both men and women. It comes in multiple variations for everyday and formal wear. It is also a garment that doesn't work very well in miniature, if you follow the traditional methods of layering and folding to create a traditional kimono! This pattern is one I developed to create the illusion of a full yukata (informal) or furisode (formal) kimono that both looks and drapes the same way on a tiny doll as it does on an adult. It is also, as a side effect, a very easy pattern to sew!

Patterns included:Kimono and Obi in furisode and yukata style variations for tiny BJD dolls (100% for 16cm, 150% for 27cm)
Supplies needed: 1/4 yard fabric, thread/sewing supplies
Difficulty: Easy! Great for beginners.  You can also check out the 'Tutorials' section for free resources on sewing and sizing.

You will get a link to the .pdf file to download on checkout as well as in your order confirmation email.  You can buy/download/print and get started in minutes!

So easy! So cute!

I've tried a few beginner-friendly patterns here and so far this is the most approachable, in my opinion. Easily adaptable to many small-sized dolls, and forgiving if you have trouble with teeny tiny seam allowances :)
