G3 Cleo review & sizing info

Posted by on

Let's take a look at the new Cleo! TLDR: For clothes, she can wear  PS sized clothes that are fitted in the upper body (blouses, dresses with gathered skirts) but not things fitted in the thighs (pants, non-stretch fitted dresses).  You can even get away with some of the looser legged pants like the Palazzo & Gaucho wide-legged pants pattern!  So most everything fits, but if you have a question about a particular pattern you can send me a message :)   Ok, from left to right I've got a G1 Cleo, a G2 cleo with a G1 head because...

G3 Draculaura review & sizing info

Posted by on

I'm going to start out by admitting that Monster High is my favorite playline doll and is the original playline doll that got me into playline dolls.  I'm a bit biased towards G1s, though I don't think it's that much of a bias.  There are some dolls I liked better as G2s and some dolls I liked better as G1s.  Will I like some dolls better as G3s?  Probably!  But overall, I probably will never stop praising G1 because it was so innovative.  Articulation, individual head sculpts and later on individual body sculpts for each doll?  Clothing quality?  SHOES?!  The...

Back to Work

I'm not really a share-r but I feel like this is something I should probably put an explanation out there for those wondering why the last blog post was almost a whole year ago, and while I've kept up with any shop related stuff, there hasn't been a lot of new content for about the same period.  It's not happy, so trigger warning I guess. 2020 sucked for everybody.  I don't really feel the need to explain how it sucked for me personally, I mean you can probably guess a few things and be right about most of them. Then...

Materials Monday: Customizing Rainbow High neck pegs

Posted by on

Most dolls have a neck peg that allows their head to turn and pivot slightly up/down so that they can cock their heads as well.  It's so minor it's not something you even really notice... until it's gone! Rainbow High dolls heads only turn side to side.  They do not pivot.  This is not thaaaat big a deal, except their heads are slightly upturned so you can't have them looking at the camera from straight on. Like so: If you want them looking at the camera you have to take a shot from above that makes them look shorter/squatter.  It...

Rainbow High Review Part 2: Sizing

Posted by on

TL;DR: Rainbow High dolls are going to be under a NEW size category: Petite Curvy All the dolly details:When I sort my dolls into sizes I pay less attention to their measurements as their overall shape.   Humans generally fall into the same shape.  No, we're not all the same shape obviously but if you're 6' or 5' your various bits all falling into the same area relative to each other so more attention is paid to your girth measurements like bust, waist, hip.   This method doesn't work so great with dolls. The first dolls I compared Rainbow High dolls to...
